The workshop is part of who we are.
At Game & Gun, gunsmithing is not something we send elsewhere. The work is carried out in-house, by craftsmen who handle the guns, understand the mechanisms and take responsibility for the result from the first inspection to the final fitting.
Behind the bench is more than 100 years of accumulated experience. That experience matters most in the small decisions — knowing when a component can be preserved, when a part should be made, how an old action should feel and when a fraction of a millimetre makes the difference.
It is practical knowledge. Hands-on, learned over years of working with hunting guns, sporting guns and some of the finest firearms ever made.

A gunsmith's work is rarely about one dramatic movement. It is filing, fitting, measuring, testing and adjusting — often repeatedly. The result comes from experience, patience and knowing what the gun should feel like before the work is considered finished.
The person advising you is close to the person doing the work.
Keeping the workshop in-house changes the relationship with the customer. We can inspect the individual gun, talk through the problem and explain the work before it begins. You know what we are doing, why we are doing it and what it will cost. Our quotes are firm, and the work is not rushed simply to get it out the door.

Bluing
Cold and hot bluing carried out with respect for the finish, protection and original character of the firearm.
Mechanical Parts
Springs, pins, extractors, tumblers, levers and specialist components repaired, fitted or made for fine and vintage guns.
Action & Slop
Wear in the main bolt, action and critical mechanical interfaces assessed and corrected by hand where required.
Soldering
Traditional soldering of barrels, ribs and related components where heat, alignment and experience all matter.
Troubleshooting
Mechanical problems are diagnosed before parts are replaced. Understanding the cause comes before deciding on the repair.
Mounting
Professional fitting and adjustment of scopes, mounts and silencers, with attention to alignment, function and balance.
Fitting & Trimming
Trigger units, barrels and mechanical parts fitted individually, where fractions of a millimetre can change how a gun feels and performs.
A fine gun should still feel like the gun its maker intended.
Working on a fine or vintage gun is not simply about making it function again. It is about understanding how it was made, preserving what should be preserved and repairing what is necessary without erasing its character. Our workshop regularly works with guns from makers such as Holland & Holland, Purdey, Dickson and Boss, where craftsmanship demands craftsmanship in return.
